I left ‘The Job’ after 10 years—turning my world on its head—so that I can engage with those who energise and inspire.
Designing and developing websites is where I get to indulge my passions. I can't get enough of that journey from blank screen to site launch, with all the ups and downs in between. I'm always open to the new and unfamiliar, looking to interact with people and businesses that have something inspiring to shout to the world. If I can help you hit heady heights with a super slice of crafty web design, then I'm one happy man.
From the off, we need to get right to the core of what your message is. We can then get the project charging off in the right direction.
The ‘big reveal’ approach to design is not for me. You'll be involved throughout the entire process and the design will be all the better for it.
Typography & Grids
If you're not sure why a design ‘just works’, chances are it's down to an informed use of type and layout. As luck would have it, I've a passion for both!
Straight to Browser
I develop designs directly in the web browser. You'll see your design evolve naturally around the content in the environment it's meant for.
I waved goodbye to Photoshop due to this lovely little graphics app called Sketch. It makes designing website bits and bobs sooooo much easier.
SASS and Gulp
Geeky I know, but these little helpers enable me to write code faster and more efficiently. This means I get to go to bed earlier!
WordPress is the one. Its flexibility means I can create pretty much any kind of site using WordPress as the CMS. Clients love its ease of use.
I'm a big advocate of transparency. I work from a shared Dropbox folder so site progress can be viewed at any time during development.

It's all Change
The longest pregnancy and labour in history finally ended when my lovely Lucy introduced little Archie to the world in Jan 2014. Real life magic!
The Sound of Music
I've played guitar for 18 years, been in bands, played cool venues to cool audiences, been on the radio, recorded and released an album. It's been a ride!
I lost my sense of smell 9 years ago following a heavy cold. It never came back and I miss it. Picking up my dog's ‘mess’ is no longer a problem though.
